Safety & Brazing
HVAC 101, Week 1

This class introduces HVAC safety conditions and tools of the trade, the refrigeration cycle, EPA requirements, and hands-on brazing.
- Exposure to safety procedures while working with HVAC systems, tools, and ladders

HVAC Electrical
HVAC 102, Week 2

This class introduces students to the basic electrical system, wiring schematics, components and application of high and low voltage in an HVAC system. Students will gain knowledge in system controls, component names, amp draw, voltage reading, microamps, ohms, microfarads, and symbols of a meter and its settings.

Install & Troubleshooting
HVAC 103, Week 3

This class builds on the students' knowledge about HVAC components and brazing techniques to show how each one fits together for an install. Student will size and install a line set, filter drier, and metering devices.

Install & Ductwork
HVAC 104, Week 4

This class is a deeper dive into performing full system installs and an introduction to ductwork. Students will review install techniques and troubleshoot the system. Students will learn about the parts of a duct and review basic air balance practices.

Residential Heat
HVAC 105, Week 5

This class students will be introduced to gas and electrical heating systems used in residential applications. During this class, students will be instructed on gas furnace component identification, safety components of a gas furnace, electric heat, and heat pumps.

HVAC 106, Week 6

This class portion of the HVAC Maintenance Technician Program will allow students to actively apply the practical skills they have learned through the last 6 weeks with hands-on practical testing in the lab.

Do I need prior experience to enroll?
No prior experience required. We build from the ground up — theory, tools, and practical work all start day one.
Are tools provided?
Every student in this program gets a trade specific tool set.
How long is the program?
6 weeks, Monday through Friday, 7AM – 3:30PM. The schedule is intensive by design — that's what makes it possible to complete real trade training in 6 weeks.
What certifications can I earn?
Students have the opportunity to earn both the EPA 608 Universal and Low GWP Refrigerant Safety certifications as part of the program curriculum. Both certification exams are included in Tuition & Fees. Passing requires individual effort, but we give you every tool to succeed.
